We are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager, with Rail / LUL experience, to work on major civil engineering projects in central London
Your Key Activities include:
• Maintain effective communications with area managers, contracts managers, project management and other associated disciplines and enhance the profile of commercial services.
• Assist in staff matters which may include: staff succession awareness, recruitment, development, attitude and behavioural issues, competency and retainment issues, staff allocation and provision of a structure and balance that meets the needs of the area.
• Provide input to staff performance and development reviews and delivery of commercial training.
• Carry out tender reviews and contract award vetting.
• Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary clients’ representatives.
• Produce, negotiate and agree design agreements with designers.
• Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants, and monitor their accounts.
• Provide an input to business development and work acquisition.
• Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and company tied costs. Obtain cash-flow information and present all reports at director’s local reviews.
• Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
• Assist in drafting and promote usage of commercial procedures.
• Deal with change management including adherence to the programme “established approach”.
• Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions / reviews.
• Attend and provide input to HSQE meetings, weekly tender review meetings, area management team briefings and senior commercial forums.
• Provide input to dispute identification and management, project risk profiling & management.
• Provide input to the OP business plan, MTP business plan and area quarterly and annual results.
• Maintain a complete library of up to date conditions of contract.
• Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation.
• Attend project start-up meetings and close-out meetings.
• Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurer’s representatives.
• Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
